A reason is no narrower than the rule it holds up
A node's reason covers everything the node's text requires: a rule that refuses an upload too large to store and tells the user why gives a reason for both, not only for the refusal. Where the reason is narrower, either the reason is completed or the rule is cut back to what the reason carries.
A rule with a narrow reason is destroyed by the next author doing everything right: the change is checked against the stated reason, the reason still holds, and the property nobody wrote down is gone. A reviewer cannot defend what the node never said.

The decisions taken on it
- Problem
Its examples were drawn from one project a reader of the method does not know.
- Ruling
The owner: the examples name what any system has — a user, an operator, a data record, a request — and nothing of one implementation; the worked example's subject stays in the example.
